A prolonged hush slowly helps the habitat recover. Lost animals stay lost until New habitat.

The laws of this habitat

Set the pace for your room. Settings stay in this browser.

Noise level is relative to your microphone, not measured decibels. Adjust the goal while the class uses the voice level you want. Noise adds up across bursts and remains dangerous after a consequence. Events are unpredictable and can happen below 100% danger. Sustained quiet slowly lowers risk.

WELCOME TO HABITAT HAVOC

Nature could use some quiet.

  1. Everybody starts here. All animals appear immediately. The unicorn is a separate, exceptionally rare visitor.
  2. Connect a microphone. Choose Silent, Independent, or Partners, then adjust the noise goal for your room.
  3. Noise has consequences. Sustained noise builds pressure and triggers severe consequences. Isolated accidental sounds get a short filter. Consequences are fast, severe, and unpredictable; the danger bar is a risk indicator, not a countdown.
  4. Watch the live graph. Keep the volume below the goal line. The big status and danger bar show how risky the habitat is. Brief pauses and individual disasters do not erase accumulated noise. The number is relative microphone volume, not calibrated decibels.
  5. Quiet helps. The habitat gradually becomes sunnier, with flowers and butterflies. Extended quiet can attract a rare, shy unicorn. Noise immediately sends it away. Lost animals leave bones, flies, and scavengers until you start a new habitat.
